In the color I want with a clean interior in a nice color. With 4WD and under 130,000 miles.

I dunno how I feel about the one-piece headlights and silver exterior trim.

I might as well stick to the GMC brand. It is a little nicer than a Blazer in certain aspects, like the floor shifter over column shifter.

Very, very nice.

Shame it's not a Diamond Edition, though.

Have you considered a Bravada

or an Envoy?

I've looked at Bravadas, but I'm not a fan of the front end treatment and really don't wanna deal with the upkeep of leather seats.

Diamond Edition is nice but not as nice as an Envoy.

I prefer the colmun shifter myself. The floor shifter is just a wast of space IMO. That Jimmy looks nice. I was working on my brother-in-law's '01 Jimmy recently, and it made me miss my old '98 S-10.

Headlights can be changed and for the silver trim, there is always plastidip. Or if you really wanna go all out, you can get it color matched.

I've learned that as a car ages, a column shifter gets very vague. Right now on mine Overdrive is in between the "OD" and "D" on my gauge cluster. I like having it down and out of the way of the air vents as well.

Ah, ok. The good thing about those old GM suvs is that if you get tired of the front, a quick trip to the junkyard can get you a completely different one.

I gotta ask: why? I never really thought the S platforms trucks drove as well as the Jeep and Ford equivalents, and those later 4.3s had their share of issues, plus the suspensions were so undersized for heavy 4x4 applications.

I want a small SUV and I'm a GM man. I can buy one in really good condition for cheap. It gets better gas mileage than a Tahoe. The most use I'll get out of the 4x4 system will be snow use and going down muddy dirt trails.

Fair enough, I can understand brand loyalty to an extent.

looks impressively clean for the year/mileage.

And if they actually get 20mpg out of that on the highway i'll eat a tire (I'm not wearing a hat, I'm not wearing a tire either- but they are close to me than a hat)

Beyond the brand loyalty I almost traded in an 04 S10 Blazer 4 door 4x4 for an 06 Eddie Bauer Explorer v6 4x4. It had less features, similar gas mileage and was slower. I'm sure I could have went up even further in the line to get more options, but it wasn't worth it to me to switch to Ford, which you may know I'm pretty crazy loyal with. I mean the 4.3L was pretty awesome, stuff connected to it on the other hand broke frequently. Was never a giant bill, just random and consistently between 50-100 a month in random little fixes.
